This weekend Brian Jolivette and Above All Sports will host their latest installments of
tournaments, this time the Houston Classic. As with all of Above All Sports events, expect a well
ran tournament with some high-level talent, and a great atmosphere. I will provide a guide on
what teams and players you should be on the lookout for this weekend at The Gym in Humble,
In the 17u division, let’s start with JL3-Moochie who will be playing up. They have several of the
top players in the 2023 class. Guys like Ma’syn Howell (Legacy SSS 2023), Jacob Hudson (Klein
Oak HS 2023), 2-sport star Hawkins Polley (Stratford HS 2023), Jake Pike (St. Thomas HS 2023),
and Angel Sonnier (Mayde Creek HS 2023) headline this team. They have been rolling all spring
and will look to continue their stellar play. Texas Takeover-Greg will look to explosive guard
Dadrian Eldridge (Legacy SSS 2021), Devin Beal (Dekaney HS 2022) and Josh Nolen (Langham
Creek HS 2022) to lead them to the championship and they are riding a 6-game winning streak.
Mo City Ballers Black have been playing as well as anyone in the city the past two weekends led
by Kameron Thomas and Zachary Guidry. They lost to a very good Hou Defenders UAA 16u
team last weekend in the quarterfinals of the Greater Houston Live and the week before they
lost in the finals of the Pearland Texas Classic. They will look to get over the hump this
weekend. The Hou Rockstarz are coming off of a 3-1 weekend at the GASO last weekend and
will look to keep ot going. Jakobe Bradford (Humble HS 2021) is still one of the hottest unsigned
seniors out there and Keith Marshall (Channelview HS 2022) has been playing well for them.
The Louisiana Silverkings are always tough and play extremely hard. Also Hoop Nation Family
led by Nemo Ratliff (Madison HS 2021) will give people fits.
In the 16u division Texas Takeover-Horace will be one of the favorites to win as they have a
dynamic duo of Ethan To (FB Austin HS 2023) and Mason Allen (Madison HS 2023). The field is
wide open after that so check out Holbrook Hoops, Hou Bandits, The Institute, Invictus Storm
and Texas Takeover-Lord to all contend for the title.
In the 15u division, JL3 Battle 2025 is one of the best 14u teams in the state and they will be
hard to beat, even playing up in the 15u division. Cenla Storm will be one of the ones looking to
still be standing on Sunday afternoon along with Modern Basketball, Texas Elite and Above All
Sports Blue and White.
There is also a 14u division with Baskets Academy, Holbrook Hoops Hurricanes, Invictus Red
Storm, Island Impact 2025, Texas Elite and Texas Takeover-Bell. In the 13u division it will be
Above All Sports-Bob, Holbrook Hoops Hurricanes, HTB 13u, Island Impact 2026 and Texas
Takeover-Myron. And in the 12u division, Above All Sports Hoops-Frankenfield, Baskets
Academy, Nemesis Crusaders and Storm Athletics 2027 will all vie for the championship!
Be sure you make it out the The Gym for some fun, highly competitive basketball this weekend.
